Upper/Lower Jaw

Choose which part of your mouth the appliance will be made for:

Upper Jaw:
Includes one appliance made for the upper jaw. A suitable upper impression or compatible scan is required.

Lower Jaw:
Includes one appliance made for the lower jaw. A suitable lower impression or compatible scan is required.

Upper & Lower Jaw:
Includes separate upper and lower appliances unless the product description identifies an integrated bimaxillary construction. Suitable records for both jaws are required. A bite registration may also be requested for an integrated bimaxillary product.

Color and appearance

Acrylic Color

Choose the color of the acrylic parts of the appliance. The public selector shows the shades that can be represented most clearly on screen. Additional available colors and multi-color placement can be requested in the checkout Notes field for compatible acrylic constructions.

Add Silver Glitter

Adds silver glitter to the selected acrylic color.

Ligature Color

Choose the color of the elastic ligatures fitted around the brackets. Available colors are shown in the selector.

Palate Design

Select the type of palatal coverage:

Full Palatal Plate

Uses a full acrylic plate across the palate of an upper appliance.

Horseshoe Palatal Plate

Uses a U-shaped acrylic plate with an open central palate area.

Headgear Tubes

Adds compatible metal tubes to the appliance for connection to a separately selected facebow. The facebow or headgear is not included unless it is selected separately.

Tongue Crib

Adds a wire-grid component behind the front teeth. Its exact shape and position depend on the selected appliance.

Reverse Pull Hooks

Adds metal attachment hooks in the product-specific standard position for connection to a compatible separately supplied reverse pull face mask.

Acrylic-Covered Labial Bow

Adds a clear acrylic covering to the visible front section of the labial wire.

Add Cheek Guards

Adds bilateral acrylic side shields to a compatible construction.

Extra-Thick Acrylic

Uses a thicker acrylic construction than the standard version. This adds material and may make the appliance feel bulkier.

Add Lip Bumper

Adds a U-shaped wire component with an acrylic-covered front section positioned in front of the lower teeth. Exact placement depends on the selected appliance.

Additional Expansion Screw

Adds another screw assembly and corresponding acrylic sectioning where the selected construction has sufficient space. Exact placement must be specified or confirmed before production.

Tongue Bead (Pearl)

Adds a small smooth bead to a wire component in the product-specific standard position.

The Van Beek Activator is a unique, removable device that blends the structure of a classic Activator with the external support of headgear. Originally developed in the Netherlands by H. van Beek, this appliance offers an advanced design that supports controlled jaw positioning while also connecting to a head strap system.

Wearing Experience:
The Van Beek Activator fits over both dental arches and encourages a specific lower jaw position. It will feel bulky at first, especially when combined with the external facebow. Speaking will be limited while the device is in use. However, the appliance is designed for comfort during regular wear and is easy to insert and remove at home.

  • Monoblock Acrylic Design:
    The Van Beek Activator features a single-piece acrylic construction that fits both the upper and lower arches. This design encourages a specific bite position while resting naturally inside the mouth.
  • Integrated Facebow:
    A built-in metal facebow allow seamless connection to an external headgear, which is used in combination with a neck strap or head cap (not included). The facebow passes through the cheeks and attaches externally, allowing gentle tension to be applied when desired.
  • Lip Shields:
    The appliance features smooth, outward-curving lip shields that rest in front of the lower and upper lips. These shields reduce muscular pressure from the lips and cheeks and create a gentle buffer between the soft tissue and the front teeth.
  • Smooth Acrylic Base:
    Polished for a smooth, comfortable fit across the teeth, gums, and palate. As always, the acrylic can be customized in your choice of color for a personalized look.
  • Retention Elements:
    Stainless steel clasps help hold the device securely in place during wear, even when light tension is applied via the facebow.

    Eine wirklich tolle, aber sehr große und nicht gerade unauffällige Spange oder ein nicht nicht gerade “unauffälliger” Aktivator.
    Bein meinem Verbeek waren die Wunschmodifikationen Zungengitter und zusätzliche Wangenschilder – Wünsche, die ohne Schwierigkeiten umgesetzt werden konnten – Danke da für die gute Kommunikation mit dem Bracesshop-Team!
    Zum “Tragekomfort” :
    Ist der Vervbeek-Aktivator einmal eingesetzt, greift er recht restriktiv Ober- und Unterkiefer in Position, ein einfaches öffnen des Mundes ist nicht ohne weiteres mehr möglich – Sprechen unmöglich!
    Bisher habe ich es – in den 2 Wochen seit dem sich der Aktivator in meinem Besitz befindet, geschafft, ihn täglich bis zu 8 Stunden am Stück zu tragen aber bisher noch nicht im Außeneinsatz – das wird als nächstes in Angriff genommen, wenn die Tragezeit erhöht wird.

All of our products are custom-made based on your dental impressions to ensure a perfect fit. Without impressions, your appliance wouldn’t fit.

If you don’t already have recent dental impressions (either from your dentist or a past order with us), you’ll need to order our Impression Kit. It’s easy to use at home and includes everything you need.

We carefully review every impression before production. If your impressions are not usable, we’ll contact you directly. You can then retake your impressions. If you’ve run out of impression material, we offer a discounted replacement kit.

Production takes 10-20 business days after we receive your impressions. Shipping time depends on your region and the shipping method you select at checkout.

If your custom device doesn’t fit as expected, contact us right away. We’ll work with you to resolve the issue – including free adjustments or a remake if necessary.

Yes! We store your dental models securely for about 1-2 years. As long as your teeth haven’t changed, you can easily reorder without taking new impressions.

After you’ve taken your impressions, please email us a few clear photos of them. Our team will review the photos to make sure the impressions are suitable. Once approved, we’ll send you the appropriate return instructions and the address of our nearest return location (in the USA, UK, or EU).

If you live in the USA or the EU, there are no import duties, as your order is shipped from within your region. Customers in other countries may be subject to local customs fees.
