Retainers

  • Which retainer type is best for me?

Each retainer type has its own advantages, depending on your needs and preferences:

    Clear Retainers (Essix type):
These are made from transparent plastic and fit snugly over your teeth, making them virtually invisible. They are comfortable and easy to wear, but may need to be replaced more often due to natural wear over time. Ideal if you prefer a discreet, modern look and don’t mind replacing them occasionally.

    Hawley Retainers:
A classic and durable option made with an acrylic base and a thin metal wire across the front teeth. They’re adjustable and long-lasting, and allow the bite to “settle” naturally after orthodontic treatment. Slight speech adjustment may occur at first, but many users find them reliable for years.

    Wrap-Around Retainers:
Similar to Hawley retainers, but with the wire extending fully around the teeth instead of across the front. This design offers a tighter fit and more even pressure, which some users find more comfortable. It’s also less likely to interfere with the bite, making it a popular upgrade from the standard Hawley style.

If you’re unsure which to choose, consider what matters most to you – appearance, durability, or comfort. For any medical or treatment-related questions, please consult your orthodontist.

  • Can I really buy retainers online?

Yes! You can easily buy retainers online through our website. We create fully custom retainers online based on your dental impressions or 3D scans. Our retainers are professionally crafted in an orthodontic dental lab – the same quality as you would receive from an orthodontist, but at a fraction of the price.

  • How does the process work to buy a custom retainer online?

It’s simple! Choose the retainer type you want (e.g., Hawley retainer, clear retainer, or wrap-around retainer) from our shop. If you don’t already have dental impressions from your dentist or a previous order with us, you can add our optional impression kit to your order. The kit includes everything you need to easily take your impressions at home.

If you order an impression kit, we’ll ship it to you first. Once you’ve taken your impressions, just email us a few clear photos of them. We’ll then send you the return instructions and the nearest return address.

As soon as we receive your impressions, we’ll begin crafting your custom order. Once it’s ready, you’ll get a photo of the finished product for review before we ship it to your delivery address.

  • Do I need to order an impression kit?

All of our products are custom-made based on your dental impressions to ensure a perfect fit. Without impressions, your appliance wouldn’t fit.

If you don’t already have recent dental impressions (either from your dentist or a past order with us), you’ll need to order our Impression Kit. It’s easy to use at home and includes everything you need.

  • How are your products made?

Our products are made by skilled dental technicians in a professional orthodontic lab that serves dentists and orthodontists worldwide. We use high-quality materials from industry-leading manufacturers, and each product is custom-made based on your individual impressions.

  • Are online retainers as good as retainers from an orthodontist?

Absolutely. Our retainers are made in the same professional orthodontic dental lab that produces appliances for dentists and orthodontists worldwide. Whether the order comes from a dental professional or directly from a private customer, we use the exact same high-quality materials, processes, and standards – there is no difference. You are receiving the same level of craftsmanship and quality that orthodontists rely on.

  • How long does it take to get my retainer?

Production typically takes 10-20 business days after we receive your impressions. Shipping times vary based on your location. We’ll keep you updated throughout the process.

  • How long do retainers last?

With proper care, clear retainers typically last 6–12 months, while Hawley retainers and wrap-around retainers can last several years. We recommend having a spare retainer in case of loss or damage.

  • Can I order a replacement retainer online?

Yes! If we have your impressions or 3D scan on file, you can easily order a replacement retainer online without needing to send new impressions (as long as your teeth haven’t changed).

  • Is it safe to buy a retainer online?

Yes, as long as your teeth are stable and you are not using the retainer for active treatment. Our retainers are designed for retention purposes only and are not intended for orthodontic movement. Always consult with a licensed orthodontist if you have concerns about your dental health.

  • How much does it cost to buy retainers online?

Our prices are typically 60–70% lower than what you would pay at a dental office, while offering the same high-quality materials and craftsmanship. Check the product pages for current pricing.

  • What if my online retainer doesn’t fit properly?

We carefully check your impressions before production, but if your custom retainer doesn’t fit as expected, we offer free adjustments or repairs. Just contact us and we’ll help resolve the issue.

  • Can I use your retainers for teeth straightening?

No. Our retainers are intended to maintain your current tooth position, not to actively move teeth. They’re not a substitute for orthodontic treatment or aligner therapy.

For medical advice or active treatment, always consult a licensed orthodontist.
