Custom-made | Dual-Block Acrylic Design | Forward Jaw Guidance + Expansion
The Sander II Appliance, also known as the Sander Bite Jumping Appliance, is a removable functional device designed to encourage forward jaw positioning while also offering transverse expansion. Developed by Professor Sander, this appliance uses a specialized central expansion screw with guidance spurs to direct the lower jaw into a protrusive position during activation.
Wearing Experience:
The Sander II positions the jaw forward when the bite is closed, which may initially feel unusual but quickly becomes familiar. The advancement screw creates both outward and forward movement, depending on how it’s activated. Some users may experience slight speech changes during the first days of use (especially for “s” or “z” sounds). It is fully removable for cleaning and not intended for medical treatment.
Key Features
- Dual Acrylic Plates:
The appliance includes separate upper and lower acrylic plates that interlock when the mouth closes, helping position the lower jaw forward. - Guided Midline Screw (Protrusion Mechanism):
The special central screw features two side-mounted guidance spurs. When activated, these do not only widen the upper arch but also advance the lower jaw through the angled coupling effect. - Stainless Steel Retention Wires:
Light, polished wire elements provide gentle retention across molars and incisors without the need for bonding or adhesive. - Polished Acrylic Finish:
Available in a variety of colors, the appliance is smooth and comfortable for daily wear and custom-shaped to your self-made impression.
