Upper/Lower Jaw

Choose which part of your mouth the appliance will be made for:

  • Upper Jaw: Appliance fits only the upper teeth.

  • Lower Jaw: Appliance fits only the lower teeth.

  • Upper & Lower Jaw: Includes two appliances, one for each jaw.

Acrylic Color

Pick your favorite color for the acrylic base of the appliance. This option allows you to add a personal flair. We offer a wide range of vibrant and subtle colors.

Acrylic-Covered Labial Bow

Add Cheek Guards

Add smooth acrylic cheek guards to the sides of the appliance to reduce irritation from wires or components rubbing against the inner cheeks. This option improves comfort, especially for customers with sensitive cheeks or those prone to irritation from orthodontic appliances.

Extra-Thick Acrylic

Choose extra-thick acrylic for added strength and durability. Ideal for customers who require a sturdier appliance due to heavy wear, strong bite forces, or for those who simply prefer a more robust feel. Note that this may add some bulk compared to the standard acrylic thickness.

Add Lip Bumper

Add a lip bumper, a U-shaped, acrylic-covered wire shield positioned in front of the lower teeth, designed to keep the lower lip away from the teeth and reduce lip pressure. This helps in creating space by allowing the back teeth to move naturally and preventing the lower lip from exerting unwanted forces on the front teeth. Often used in orthodontic treatment to assist with arch development and alignment.

Additional Expansion Screw

Add an extra expansion screw to the appliance for enhanced or multi-directional expansion. This option is useful when greater or segmented expansion is needed – for example, expanding different parts of the arch independently. It is commonly selected for complex orthodontic cases requiring more precise control over tooth and arch movement.

Tongue Bead (Pearl)

Add a small, smooth tongue bead (also called a pearl) to the center of the upper appliance. This tactile training aid encourages proper tongue positioning by providing a physical point of contact for the tongue tip. Commonly used to help correct tongue thrust habits, improve swallowing patterns, and support speech development.

It features a strong central expansion screw, labial and palatal wire components, and strategically placed shelves and hooks for elastics. It’s fully custom-fitted and ideal for demonstration, display, or simulation use.

  • Strong Expansion Screw:
    Located in the palatal center, the screw is reinforced for controlled, stable expansion.
  • Catenary Wire & Approximating Wire:
    These thin wires guide and control soft tissue contact and help maintain arch width. The catenary wire spans across the anterior teeth, while the approximating wire sits closer to the appliance body.
  • Wire Shelf:
    A horizontal support wire (“shelf”) offers additional structural reinforcement and serves as a point of guidance for the lower lip during wear.
  • Hooks for Elastics:
    Positioned at the canines or premolars, these hooks enable the use of light elastics (not included), further simulating real treatment setups.
  • Distal Rests & Crozat Cribs:
    Wire extensions at the molars (distal rests) and clasping components around the premolars and molars (Crozat-style cribs) provide mechanical retention and stability.
  • Polished Acrylic Base:
    The acrylic coverage is shaped for comfort and available in custom colors.

Expanders

  • Are these real palatal expanders?

    Yes, we manufacture these appliances using the exact same materials, fabrication process, and quality standards that we use for orthodontists and dentists worldwide. Whether the appliance is ordered for demonstration, educational purposes, or by an orthodontist for treatment, the quality is identical.

    However, it’s important to understand that a palate expander is only one part of an orthodontic treatment plan. Proper diagnosis, adjustment, and monitoring by a licensed orthodontist are essential.

  • Can these expanders be used for actual treatment?

    These appliances are designed to the same standards used for clinical orthodontics. However, as a dental laboratory, we do not offer treatments, medical advice, or diagnoses. Our appliances can only be used for treatment under the supervision of a licensed orthodontist.

    If you are considering using a palatal expander for treatment purposes, it is absolutely essential to consult with a qualified orthodontist to ensure safe and appropriate use.

  • Which palate expander is right for me?

    Choosing the right expander - whether a Schwarz Appliance, 3-Way Schwarz, RPE Appliance, or Sagittal Appliance - depends entirely on your individual orthodontic needs, which can only be assessed by a licensed orthodontist.

    We do not offer medical consultations or recommendations. If you are unsure, please speak with your orthodontist before placing an order.

  • Can I customize my expander (e.g., color, design)?

    Yes! Each expander is individually handcrafted to your specifications, and customization is absolutely possible. During the ordering process, you’ll have the option to select acrylic colors and other customization features. Please check the product configurator for available options for each appliance.

    If you have any specific customization requests beyond the standard options – such as particular design features, preferences for the wire layout, or other details – you can simply add these in the “Comments” field at the final step of the checkout process.

    Since every appliance is made to order based on your preferences, we’ll review your notes and contact you if we have any questions about your request.

  • How does the process work?

    Simply choose your desired appliance from our website. If you don’t have existing dental impressions, you can order an impression kit. Once we receive your impressions, we fabricate your custom appliance and ship it to you.

    If you already have an intraoral scan, you can send the .STL files via email or file transfer.

  • Do you ship internationally?

    Yes, we ship worldwide from the USA and the EU! We have return addresses in the USA, UK, and EU for your convenience. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout, and tracking is included with every order.

  • Do I need to order an impression kit?

    All of our products are custom-made based on your dental impressions to ensure a perfect fit. Without impressions, your appliance wouldn’t fit.

    If you don’t already have recent dental impressions (either from your dentist or a past order with us), you’ll need to order our Impression Kit. It’s easy to use at home and includes everything you need.

  • How do I return my impressions?

    After you’ve taken your impressions, please email us a few clear photos of them. Our team will review the photos to make sure the impressions are suitable. Once approved, we’ll send you the appropriate return instructions and the address of our nearest return location (in the USA, UK, or EU).

  • Do you offer instructions on how to activate the expander?

    No. Activation and adjustment of any orthodontic appliance, especially expanders with activation screws, must only be done by a licensed orthodontist.

  • Can I use your impression kit for ordering an expander?

    Yes! If you don’t already have dental impressions, you can order our impression kit. It contains everything you need to take impressions at home.

    However, please remember: Having accurate impressions does not replace professional consultation. If you plan to use the expander for treatment, a licensed orthodontist should still guide the entire process.
